We want to thank everyone who came out to see our FIPPP Fellows at our Winter Festival in January at Pianofight Oakland!
The Formerly Incarcerated People's Performance Project (FIPPP) is back! Our debut of our FIPPP Encore! partnership with Berkeley Rep on February 24, 25 & 26, 2023, has sold out every night!
We are pleased to encore our January Winter Festival at Berkeley Rep's School of Theatre's Bakery in February. See powerful solo performances by our expanded group of FIPPP Fellows Randy Carter, Cam Clark, Algiin Ford, Precious Hicks, AJ Jefferson, Freddy Lee Johnson, Pamela Ann Keane, Pearl Louise, Al Sasser, Scott Schell & Tylon Sizemore!
"Hearing the voices of formerly incarcerated individuals is a must. The overall impact will continue to chip away at the inhumane injustices of the incarcerated and broader community. It is time, and society as a whole benefits." - Freddy Lee Johnson, FIPPP Performer
At FIPPP, we believe there is power in telling your own story, for both the storyteller and the audience. Every FIPPP performance is crafted using improvisation and storytelling techniques over time. And each performer brings their own unique experience of circumstance, heartache, learning, and redemption to the stage in their own voice. We are pleased to be back on stage with new work and new performers working with our professional directors on February 24, 25 & 26, 2023 at Berkeley Rep's School of Theatre!

There is no age minimum for attendance at our festival. However, these stories include frank portrayals of the causes and impacts of incarceration, including descriptions of physical violence, substance abuse, and racial trauma. That said, these stories are rich with humanity, insight, and redemption, and are highly recommended for teenagers and up.
